Hello! I’m Rachel Forbes, a “retired” 7th grade Math teacher. I say “retired” since I took a break from teaching when I had my son, Miles. I plan to go back when all of my kids (I don’t have any more currently) are all in school. My husband, Brian, is also a teacher! But he teaches English…don’t worry. I don’t hold it against him, since Math is clearly better. Just kidding. Just kidding. But seriously.

I’m so excited for the future when everyone in my family has the same schedule and when we can go on vacations together for the whole summer. God is good, you know? My Dad always said, “Never marry a teacher,” but honestly, it’s the best. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 

I love cooking, but since my husband is better at it than me, I leave it to him. I am a better baker though. Sourdough is seriously the best. All you need is flour, water, and salt! I can’t think of anything more food storage friendly. 

I love being a mom, but I especially love being a mom to Miles. He’s the sweetest boy in the world. 

I love riding my bike and exercising in my home gym. 

I recently discovered the brilliance that is audio books, since I don’t have a whole lot of time to read physical books. It’s the greatest thing. It’s like watching a movie in your head, while doing literally anything. If you haven’t listened to or read “Radical Love” by Zachary Levi, you need to. I’m not just saying that because he’s my #1 celebrity crush. I promise 😉

But most of all, I love God! He’s been such a huge part of my life and everything I have is because of Him. That’s really what led me to start blogging. I want to share all of the good things in my life with others, sort of as a small way to show Him how grateful I am for it. I’m not really an outgoing person. I’m hardly on social media because I compare myself too much to others, which is not good for my mental health at all, and a lot of what I see is negative! I don’t need that in my head. I need light and positivity! I want my kids to have that. And I want to share that with you too.
